Ed: Visit the Opportunity Center: The Opportunity Center is a mixed-use facility built in the heart of the Midpeninsula region that provides coordinated services and housing to homeless men, women and children in our community - and those at risk of becoming homeless. It also serves as a resource to the whole community in the challenge of responding to homelessness. Participants will take a tour of this center and share their culture with children who live in the Opportunity Center.

Ed: Volunteer with Sacred Heart Community Service: Sacred Heart Community Service offers various services for immigrant, homeless, and impoverished communities. Participants will learn about this organization and help with sorting food donations, packing family and homeless food bags, distributing groceries and produce, or sorting and hanging clothing donations.
HD: Phoenix North: Phoenix North County Self Help was founded by people who suffer from mental illness. Phoenix provides a supportive atmosphere for others with mental illness too. They have daily activities such as bingo, drawing and singing. They will share their personal stories with us when they visit, and we will help with their activities. Learn more about living with mental illnesses & support groups. Hear Director's personal story of living with mental illness and ask questions.
UI: LGBT Panel : Listen to the stories of Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual and Trans-sexual peoples. Then share insights and participate in discussions.
7 - 8pm: Stanford Student Group Panel: Meet Stanford students involved in student groups focusing on serving the community related to homelessness and poverty. Our panelists include Paul Padovano (Former president of Night Outreach), Alyssa Battistoni (President of Students Taking on Poverty), Tien (President of Alpha Phi Omega), and Nina Duong (member of Alpha Phi Omega, and UI Coordinator).

ED: Volunteer with Sunday Friends: Since 1997, Sunday Friends has provided a safe place where homeless and very-low-income families come together with volunteers in a community setting. Five students will have an opportunity to help with a cooking project and five will help with an art project.
HD: Group leaves for Camp Costanoan: Participants will be staying overnight at this camp and volunteering with people with physical and developmental disabilities.
UI: Visit the Arbor Free Clinic: The mission of the Arbor Free Clinic is twofold: to provide quality free medical care to people in need, and to provide an interactive, clinical learning environment for Stanford medical students. Participants will have the opportunity to meet the Stanford volunteers who manage the clinic and get a tour of the facilities.

Ed: Visit San Quentin Prison: San Quetin State Prison, located in Marin County just North of San Francisco, is the oldest prison in California (opened July 1852). Meet with Jody Lewen, the Executive director of San Quentin's Prison University Project to learn about higher education in prisons.
HD: Volunteer at Lytton Gardens: Lytton Gardens is located in Palo Alto and is a vibrant community of health care and Senior care professionals, staff, volunteers, and most importantly, over 500 Senior residents who call Lytton home. Students will learn about elderly care in the U.S., and then they can push wheelchairs for and interact with residents outdoors. Information about Lytton Gardens can be found at www.lyttongardens.org.

UI: Angel Island Tour: Angel Island is a hilly, grass and forest-covered island, the largest in San Francisco Bay. It provides spectacular views of Marin County, San Francisco, and the Golden Gate, and the entire Bay Area. In addition to recreational facilities (hiking, biking, camping, boating), it is rich in historical significance. For almost 100 years - stretching from the Civil War to the Cold War - the island housed a variety of military installations, including supporting troops on their way to and from the Pacific Theaters in WWI and WWII. It also played a major role in the settlement of the West, serving both as a Public Health Service Quarantine Station, and an Immigration Station.

UI: Faithful Fools Street Retreat: We will go on a street retreat with Faithful Fools which guides people through the streets of San Francisco in the shoes of the homeless. Ed: Morning: Asian American Recovery Services (AARS): AARS is dedicated to decreasing the incidence and impact of substance abuse in Asian and Pacific Islander populations in the SF Bay area. Afternoon: Arriba Juntos: Arriba Juntos' mission is to promote economic self-sufficency for San Francisco peoples and their families through occupational training and employment opportunities.
HD: Magnet Clinic and visit to the Castro: “In the Middle of the Castro [neighborhood], Magnet takes a truly holistic approach to gay men’s physical, mental and sexual health. . .”
Magnet offers a variety of services to gay men, including anonymous testing and screening for HIV and sexually transmitted diseases. However, Magnet prides itself on being more than just a sterile clinic. At its location in the Castro, it also provides art shows, seminars, counseling services and even game nights.
The Director, Steven Gibson, will talk to the group about Magnet’s role in the community and gay men’s health care. After the meeting, the group will go on a walking tour of the Castro to learn how this originally working-class neighborhood of European immigrants became an international symbol of gay pride and liberation.11am-12pm Walking tour of the Castro Neighborhood

HD: Morning: Creativity Explored: Creativity Explored enables adults with developmental disabilities to express themselves artistically in a way that is personally rewarding and appreciated by others.
