How VIA is Supported
VIA is supported by a combination of individual contributions, foundation
funding, participant fees, and income generated by entrepreneurial initiatives
like the VIA Press. VIA's independence from government funding has allowed
us to enter countries at critical times: Vietnam before normalization,
China before and after Tiananmen Square, Indonesia after the coup in 1967,
and in Laos at a time when government-sponsored volunteers were refused
entry.
Thank
you to all our supporters!
Foundations, Corporations, Organizations:
Individual Donations
The VIA family has grown to nearly 2,000 volunteer alumni, more than
4,000 Stanford Programs alumni, and friends whose annual contributions
make our work possible.
Other
- Participant Fees
- VIA Press
- Corporate Matching Grants
- Combined Federal Campaign Contributions
VIA continues to provide extremely cost-effective programs, stretching
every cent. For what the Peace Corps spends to send one volunteer overseas,
VIA can send FOUR.
